No, I did not fall off the edge of the earth. I just took a little hiatus from writing my blog. Let me explain:
In July of 2022 one of my friends gave me a subscription to an online writing opportunity called “Storyworth”. Its main focus is to encourage people to write their story and give it to family members or close friends to remember them by. Every week Storyworth sends you a question, about which you can write your life experience. However, you can change the question or even write your own. At the end of a year you don’t get any more questions and you have three months in which to edit your book. Then they print a beautiful hardbound book to send to you (and you can order more books, at $40.00 each).
So, during that year I was writing both my blog and my Storyworth book, often incorporating some of my blog into my book. However, at the end of the year I realized I still had a lot of work to do on my book and I only had three months in which to do it. Therefore, I put my blog on hold (and, I admit, I got lazy). But I eventually finished my book. It’s entitled “Grateful!”. This is what the cover looks like:
Incidentally, I do have a .pdf version of my book. If you would like me to email it to you, just let me know. However, be warned – it’s a whopping 475 pages! (Yes, I confess – I’m very verbose, as you may have already surmised.)
So as soon as I post this blog I will begin writing my next blog post, continuing my story in the “Season of Suffering” section. It will be entitled “The ‘Business’ of Suffering”.
By the way, have I ever told you how very much I appreciate your support and encouragement in my writing endeavor? Every comment you submit – every reassuring word you give me spurs me to persevere. My self-doubting self would have given up long ago had it not been for you.
I have no idea where this is going. I’d like to publish an actual copyrighted book someday. I even consulted with a publisher to find out what is involved. It’s pretty overwhelming but if this is something that God wants, I guess he will open the right doors for me to walk through.
